Action Needed

We urgently need your support and advocacy to address acritical issue affecting the lives of Californians with developmental disabilities.

Governor Gavin Newsom has proposed to delay a $1 billion investment in critical supports and services for Californians with developmental disabilities. For decades, underfunding has weakened the direct support workforce, making it difficult for individuals with disabilities and their families to access reliable services. This proposed delay is one of the largest in the Governor’s 2024-25 state budget, and it will have a tragic impact on services like St. Madeleine Sophie’s Center. Past advocacy efforts in 2022 played a crucial role in securing support from Californian Senators and Assembly members to ensure adequate funding for regional centers by July 1, 2024. Now, the Governor wants to delay that funding, jeopardizing the progress made. We urge to you to contact your local representatives and voice your concerns. Together, we can make a difference and ensure a brighter future for our community. Thank you for your ongoing support and advocacy.
