Volunteer Spotlight: Rosemary Gibson

Q: How long have you been volunteering at St Madeleine Sophie’s Center?

A: My first volunteer assignment was to help with the annual holiday party this past December (2018).  What a fun experience!  The event was great fun with activities, treats and festive and delicious holiday lunch and even a visit from the Chick-fil-A cow and Santa!

Q: Why did you decide to become a volunteer?

A: I like that the volunteer opportunities are varied.  I can help with students and also on the event and fundraising side.  St. Madeleine’s is highly regarded and a San Diego treasure.

Q: What is your favorite thing about volunteering at SMSC?

A: It is a wonderful opportunity to make a difference.  Just a few hours a week assisting the staff and students at SMSC can make a difference. I’ve enjoyed conversations with many of the students.  It’s wonderful to learn more about their interests.  I look forward to spending more time and getting to know the students and the devoted staff.
