Volunteer Spotlight: Jonathan Woods

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT

JONATHAN WOODS

How long have you been volunteering at St. Madeleine Sophie’s Center?

Jonathan has been volunteering at SMSC since he was in high school, about 7 years now.

Why did you decide to become a volunteer?

Originally, when Jonathan was younger, he took swimming lessons for several summers at the SMSC’s pool, as did 2 of his brothers and 2 cousins. Jonathan always hoped to play for the San Diego Padres or Los Angeles Lakers (they still haven’t called J) or work for SMSC’s pool when he grew up.  Jonathan is very happy the pool did say “yes”.

What are your favorite things about volunteering?

Jonathan loves getting up and coming to the pool each day.  He enjoys working with friends and meeting new ones.  He looks forward to helping SMSC students with their workouts in the water. He likes helping to keep around the pool cleaned up and neat.  Jonathan is so happy he was able to grow up and have his dream job!
